卦辭
否之匪人，不利君子貞，大往小來。
彖傳
否之匪人，不利君子貞，大往小來。則是天地不交而萬物不通也，上下不交而天下无邦也。內陰而外陽，內柔而外剛，內小人而外君子，小人道長，君子道消也。
大象傳
天地不交，否；君子以儉德辟難，不可榮以祿。
爻辭
| First Six | ，拔茅茹以其彙，貞吉。亨。 象曰：拔茅貞吉，志在君也。 Pulling up the grass, roots and all come with it. In a time of obstruction, withdraw together with those who share your way; hold to what is right and there is good fortune and progress. |

| Second Six | ，包承，小人吉，大人否。亨。 象曰：大人否，亨。不亂羣也。 Bearing with things and going along: for the petty this is fortunate. The great person, though in obstruction, does not join the current — and so goes through. |

| Fourth Nine | ，有命，无咎，疇離祉。 象曰：有命无咎，志行也。 Acting under the mandate of heaven brings no blame, and those of like kind share in the blessing. |
| Fifth Nine | ，休否，大人吉。其亡其亡，繫于苞桑。 象曰：大人之吉，位正當也。 The time of obstruction is brought to a halt; for the great person, good fortune. Still stay watchful — do not let it perish — as though bound to a clump of mulberry, only then is it secure. |
| Top Nine | ，傾否，先否後喜。 象曰：否終則傾，何可長也。 The obstruction topples over. What was blocked is broken open at last: hardship first, then joy. |
