䷊ 地天泰

拔茅茹以其彙，征吉。

象曰：拔茅征吉，志在外也。

Pulling up the grass, roots and all come with it — the worthy rise together. To set out brings good fortune.

包荒。用馮河，不遐遺；朋亡。得尚于中行。

象曰：包荒，得尚于中行，以光大也。

A capacity broad enough to embrace the wasteland, the resolve to ford the river on foot, no forgetting of the distant worthy, no forming of factions — this accords with the middle way.

无平不陂，无往不復，艱貞无咎。勿恤其孚，于食有福。

象曰：无往不復，天地際也。

There is no plain that does not slope, no going out that does not return. Hold to what is right amid hardship and there is no blame. Do not fret; the blessing is there.

翩翩，不富以其鄰；不戒以孚。

象曰：翩翩不富，皆失實也。不戒以孚，中心願也。

Coming down lightly to meet those below, not parading wealth but sharing one heart with the neighbour, in good faith with one another before any word of caution is needed.

帝乙歸妹，以祉，元吉。

象曰：以祉，元吉。中以行願也。

King Yi gives his younger sister in marriage — the honoured one humbling himself to make the alliance. Blessing comes of it. Great good fortune.

城復于隍，勿用師，自邑告命，貞吝。

象曰：城復于隍，其命亂也。

The city wall collapses back into the moat. Do not use armed force now; a proclamation to your own town is enough. Even holding to what is right, difficulty is hard to avoid.
