䷻ 水澤節

不出戶庭，无咎。

象曰：不出戶庭，知通塞也。

Not going out of the courtyard — knowing the way is blocked and halting. No blame.

不出門庭，凶。

象曰：不出門庭，失時極也。

Not going out of the courtyard when the moment to act has come — the time is missed. Misfortune.

不節若，則嗟若，无咎。

象曰：不節之嗟，又誰咎也。

Not knowing how to keep within measure, and sighing about it afterwards. The fault is one's own; there is no one else to blame.

安節，亨。

象曰：安節之亨，承上道也。

Restraint accepted calmly, in keeping with what is natural. Success.

甘節，吉；往有尚。

象曰：甘節之吉，居位中也。

Restraint that is pleasant to keep — limits without bitterness. Good fortune; to go forward earns commendation.

苦節，貞凶，悔亡。

象曰：苦節貞凶，其道窮也。

Restraint that is bitter. Even holding to it brings misfortune, for what is too harsh cannot last. Yet repent, and the regret disappears.
