晉如，摧如，貞吉。罔孚，裕无咎。

象曰：晉如，摧如；獨行正也。裕无咎；未受命也。

Advance is blocked. Hold to what is right — good fortune. Trust has not yet been given; stay generous and unhurried, and there is no blame.

晉如，愁如，貞吉。受茲介福，于其王母。

象曰：受茲介福，以中正也。

Advancing in sorrow. Hold to what is right — good fortune. Great blessing will come from an honoured one, as from a royal ancestress.

眾允，悔亡。

象曰：眾允之志，上行也。

The many give their assent. Regret disappears.

晉如鼫鼠，貞厲。

象曰：鼫鼠貞厲，位不當也。

Advancing like a marmot, greedy yet afraid of being seen. To hold this position is dangerous.

悔亡，失得勿恤，往吉无不利。

象曰：失得勿恤，往有慶也。

Regret disappears. Do not take gain and loss to heart. To go forward brings good fortune, and nothing fails to go well.

晉其角，維用伐邑，厲吉无咎，貞吝。

象曰：維用伐邑，道未光也。

Advancing to the point of using the horns — hardness carried too far. It may be turned only against one's own city. Danger, yet in the end good fortune and no blame; but even holding to what is right brings difficulty.
