䷲ 震為雷

震來虩虩，后笑言啞啞，吉。

象曰：震來虩虩，恐致福也。笑言啞啞，后有則也。

When the thunder comes there is fear and vigilance; afterwards talk and laughter as before. Good fortune.

震來厲，億喪貝，躋于九陵，勿逐，七日得。

象曰：震來厲，乘剛也。

The thunder comes fiercely and there is risk of losing one's goods; climb the high ridge and go. Do not chase what is lost — in seven days it returns of itself.

震蘇蘇，震行无眚。

象曰：震蘇蘇，位不當也。

The thunder leaves one shaken and uneasy. Let the fear make your actions careful, and calamity can be avoided.

震遂泥。

象曰：震遂泥，未光也。

Under the shock, sinking into the mud — firm purpose bogged down, unable to shine out.

震往來厲，億无喪，有事。

象曰：震往來厲，危行也。其事在中，大无喪也。

The shock comes and goes, dangerous either way. Weigh the situation before acting, and what must be done for the sacrifices is not lost.

震索索，視矍矍，征凶。震不于其躬，于其鄰，无咎。婚媾有言。

象曰：震索索，中未得也。雖凶无咎，畏鄰戒也。

The shock at its height: looking about in terror with unsteady steps. To set out now brings misfortune. But if you take warning before it reaches you, blame can be avoided — though relatives by marriage may have words to say.
